The Washington Commanders are clearly feeling confident after their 2025 NFL Draft haul. The team’s latest Instagram post features what appears to be a strength-focused celebration of their draft success, accompanied by the caption “are you not entertained? 💪” – a clear nod to the iconic line from the film Gladiator that suggests the team believes they’ve put on quite a show for their fans during the draft and the recent games.

The Commanders have been particularly active on social media throughout the draft process, documenting their selections and the excitement surrounding their new additions. With the 29th overall pick in the first round, Washington selected offensive tackle Joshua Conerly Jr., as revealed in one of their recent posts captioned “WITH THE 29TH PICK ➡️ @joshuaconerlyjr.”

This selection addresses a clear need for the team as they continue to rebuild their offensive line. The team highlighted their first-round pick with a post describing Conerly as a “top of the line pick,” emphasizing the value they place on protecting their quarterback and strengthening their offensive front.

A New Washington Era

The draft represents another significant step in the franchise’s rebranding and rebuilding process. Since officially becoming the Washington Commanders in February 2022 after previously being known as the Washington Football Team (2020-2022) and before that the Washington Redskins (1937-2020), the organization has been working to establish a new identity both on and off the field.

According to their recent social media activity, the team appears to be focusing on character as much as athletic ability in their draft selections. One notable post asked “what does it take to be a Commander?” suggesting they’re building not just a roster but a culture.

The team has been particularly active in their communication strategy, with another post indicating they were “getting our guy,” possibly referring to a phone call to one of their draft picks. This behind-the-scenes content allows fans to feel more connected to the draft process and the organization as a whole.

As the team moves forward from the draft into rookie minicamps and eventually the 2025 season, they’ll be looking to translate this draft excitement into on-field success. The Commanders are coming off a 4-13 season in 2023 that led to significant changes in both the front office and coaching staff, including the hiring of new head coach Dan Quinn.

With their new draft class in place, including Joshua Conerly Jr., the Commanders are positioning themselves as a team on the rise, asking their fans with confidence: “are you not entertained?” Based on their draft strategy and social media presence, it’s clear they believe the answer should be a resounding yes.
