The Tennessee Titans are continuing to build their roster for the upcoming NFL season, officially signing rookie tight end Gunnar Helm. The team announced the signing on their official Instagram account with a photo showing Helm shaking hands with a Titans representative, accompanied by the caption “Making moves 🤝 @gunnarbhelm.”
Draft Day To Signing Day
The signing comes shortly after Helm was selected by the Titans in the 2025 NFL Draft. According to previous posts from the team’s social media accounts, Helm was the 120th overall pick in this year’s draft. In a unique twist, the Titans had international fan Graheme Tilley Junee announce Helm’s selection during the draft proceedings.
The journey from draft selection to official signing has been well-documented by the Titans’ social media team. Just days ago, they shared a post welcoming Helm to Nashville, followed by emotional footage capturing “the moment dreams became reality” as Helm received the life-changing call that he’d been drafted.
Building The Titans Roster
Helm joins a growing class of 2025 rookies for the Titans, who have been actively introducing their draft picks to fans through social media. Recent additions include wide receiver Chimere Dike and defensive back Kevin Winston Jr.
The Titans have historically had periods of success, including an appearance in Super Bowl XXXIV following the 1999 season, where they famously fell just one yard short of forcing overtime against the St. Louis Rams in what became known as the “One Yard Short” or “The Tackle” play.
Helm’s College Background
Gunnar Helm played college football at the University of Texas after transferring from Colorado. The tight end showed promise during his collegiate career, displaying both blocking abilities and receiving skills that caught the attention of NFL scouts. His selection in the fourth round indicates the Titans see significant potential in the young player.
As the Titans continue their offseason program, Helm will now begin the process of learning the playbook and adjusting to the professional level. The signing marks the official beginning of his NFL career as he transitions from college prospect to professional athlete.
With training camp approaching in the coming months, Titans fans will be eager to see how Helm and the other rookies integrate into the team’s plans for the 2025 season, as Tennessee looks to climb back to competitiveness in the highly contested AFC South division.
